Whitecourt is located in the west-central region of the Province of Alberta some 177 kms. northwest of Edmonton. Located in a thriving resource area, Whitecourt  has grown to almost 10,000 people, but serves a trading area of 50,000, most of which work in the energy or forestry fields.
It is a young town with the average age of around 30, but the average household income is some 20% higher than the Alberta provincial average. The local economy is driven by the forestry and oil and gas industries.  Just recently it was announced that Canada's first coal-to-liquids plant will be built near Fox Creek, about 80 kilometers northwest of Whitecourt.  When fully operational, the $4.5 Billion project will be capable of producing 50,000 barrels of diesel fuel and naptha for more than 40 years, while employing a workforce of 400 direct full-time jobs, excluding added employment in support services in the surrounding areas.
RE/MAX has been part of Whitecourt since 1983 when a 2-man Independent office opened. After joining  RE/MAX in 1993 the company grew to 16 agents with a presence in Whitecourt, Fox Creek & Mayerthorpe.

RE/MAX advantage (whitecourt) is the largest and oldest Real Estate office in the area with over 160 years of  Real Estate experience.
